Inventors from all over the U.S. traveled last week to New Jersey-based Telebrands, the company behind the ”as seen on TV” infomercials, to pitch what they hope will be the next big infomercial success, reports a May 22 article in The Star-Ledger. Among the contestants were a 44-year-old with a multi-purpose cleaner and a 41-year-old with perfumed jewelry. Each inventor had five minutes in front of Telebrands CEO AJ Khubani and a panel of judges. For a product to be a hit, “it’s got to solve an everyday problem” and “it’s got to be visually exciting,” say Khubani. You can read the full Star-Ledger article here.
